Meet Rich

Hi, I’m Rich, and my Chinese name is 富贵儿.

The day Ruijie came to the shelter, I was the only cat hiding in the corner. The other cats were busy being friendly and confident. I was not. I stayed very still and watched everything from my little corner.

Then Ruijie reached his hand toward me. I was a little scared… but at the same time I started purring. I think that confused him. Somehow, that was enough. He picked me up and brought me home.

People say I’m a Siamese cat, but Ruijie thinks I look more like a little piece of colorful Li Hua (彩狸).

Now I spend most of my time keeping him company while he works from home. And every night before he goes to sleep, I go find him and give him a proper round of biscuit-making (踩奶).

That’s my job.
